The Collection | A New Approach to Clothing | 01

The collection is my attempt at doing a curated and carefully chosen collection of items I have designed over the last few months. The aim here is to create a anti-season line of clothing and accessories that will be available until stock is depleted. Once that happens I will start on the next collection and so on…

In Collection 01 is a love song to sashiko a fabric that I feel gets the wrong attention by denim nerds. Avoiding the indigo I went straight to colors that won’t leave stains on your furniture. Beige, white, and washed fabrics… Also some items that are apart of our current global culture. There is a cool mask that is actually quite cool to the touch, some very eco-conscious socks, and a sashiko waist bag.

The first item up is this madras combed cotton broad cloth shirt. This supple fabric is light yet sturdy. Perfect for gardening, strolling or even wearing to the office. The large silhouette fits all body types and it could be worn tucked in or not, open or closed… lots of options.

Moving on, we have a special collab piece between me and Cottle. These pants are Cottle’s original design, aptly named “Comfort Pants”. They have been enhanced in comfort by my contribution of an excellent sashiko fabric. This fabric is light and fluffy, it has some give to it and will definitely not shrink after you wash it. The elastic waist is a loose elastic which gives a comfortable hold on your hips. Finished with a kintsugi button and draw string these are adjustable as well.

Made by my friend at Second Natvre made these waist bags for me in a black and white sashiko fabric I have used before. Light, soft and strong. It is a very universal fabric with almost unlimited applications. The perfect size waist bag for everyday carry items and light and comfortable enough for camping and hiking trips, can even be worn as a slight bag. Two main compartments and an internal pocket.

If you don’t know Osom textiles, now you do… Based in the US they made the upper yarn for the Nike Space Hippie sneakers that dropped earlier this year. They also make really great socks. Made form 85-95% recycled material they do not use dyes or water in their process. Needless to say this is awesome for the planet. The socks have a simple aesthetic to them that I very much enjoy. They are comfortable and reasonably priced. The muted colors come from mixing certain colored yarns together maybe some old denim ended up in there. The fit US size 7-12 unisex fit. They have stretch in them so they will get more comfortable over time.

Troy and myself are really into exploring new materials and color ways for caps. We utilized this amazing Alberton duck fabric to make these incredible outdoor caps. The shuttle woven fabric is durable and breathable. The fabric has been biowashed for softness and a worn in look. The brim is made from 25oz Alberton shuttle woven duck and the shell is made from 15oz biowashed duck. Available in 2 colors USM Green and Sedona Orange
