Soviet military surplus has an interesting aesthetic. The stamps, letting, color pallet, construction, and textiles are always interesting and fresh to a world in which US military is so common.
I love leaving textiles in their original form, with the oil stains, mending, and construction intact. It gives a piece a vintage feel without having to distress it. My friend Michael (Michael Masterson) helped make all of these and it has been slow going. Finally after a long enduring wait we have three ready.
Based off an old submarine smock we have increased the proportions to fit like a big parachute. Using only MiG drogue chute material in its pure form these have been constructed as best as we could. There are some small flaws here and there but that definitely adds to their authenticity.
Each one is slightly different and we have designated each one with a greek letter to easily identify.
